Recently, the press meets of the film 'Vaanam' was held at Residency towers in T. Nagar in the last week of September. The entire team of the film 'Vaanam' was present in this occasion. STR, Bharath, Anushka, Vega, Sonia Agarwal, music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, director Krish and producer of the movie VTV Ganesh, etc. all attended the press meet.
In this occasion, Simbu a.k.a STR mentioned that VTV has earned him a good name, and hence he is interested in roles that are good. He said that he persuaded VTV Ganesh to do 'Vaanam' as he was impressed seeing Telugu movie Vedam. He also said that he is a big fan of actress Anushka Shetty. He said that he used to like Jothika a lot for her acting but after seeing Arundathi, he has become a huge fan of Anushka Shetty. He said "I watched the film Arundathi frame by frame and like Anushka work in every scene of the movie".
